The Seed Planted In Your Heart

The word of God is the seed, and the ground of our hearts determines the harvest we receive. When the seed finds good ground, it produces thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.

Every believer has received the incorruptible seed of the word of God. In the parable of the sower, our Lord Jesus Christ reveals that the same seed is sown everywhere, but its fruitfulness is entirely dependent upon the condition of the ground it falls into.

Some seed falls by the way side, and the wicked one comes to snatch it away. Some falls upon stony places where it springs up quickly but withers because it has no root. Some falls among thorns, and the cares of this world choke the life out of it. But blessed is that seed which falls into good ground.

The question is not whether the seed is good, for the seed is the word of God and is therefore perfect. The question is the condition of our hearts. Let us labour to keep our hearts soft, broken, and open before the Lord, so that every word sown in us may bring forth fruit to the glory of God.

Do not allow the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things to steal what God has planted in you. Water the seed with prayer, guard it with watchfulness, and in due season you shall reap a bountiful harvest.
