Life is a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. How are you spending your vapour?

The apostle James reminds us that our life is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. This is not a message of despair but of urgency.

If life is so brief, then we must not waste it on that which does not matter. We must live for the things that have eternal value. Every day is a gift, and every opportunity to serve God must be seized while it is still called today.

When we understand the brevity of life, we stop living for ourselves and begin living for the One who gave us breath. We begin to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Live today as though it were your last. Love deeply, forgive freely, and serve God with all your heart, for you do not know what tomorrow may bring.
