The Power of Prayer
There is nothing that so reveals the condition of a soul as its prayer life. The believer who prays is like a tree planted by the rivers of water, whose leaf does not wither and which yields fruit in its season.
Prayer is not a duty to be performed but a relationship to be enjoyed. It is the highest privilege of the child of God to enter the presence of the Father, to make known our requests, and to receive grace to help in time of need.
The early Church understood this. When they prayed, the place was shaken and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness. The church that prays does not merely survive; it thrives.
Let us commit ourselves to a lifestyle of prayer, for the prayer of faith shall surely move the hand of God.
